Who is your typical client?

Individuals who are high functioning who want more from their lives. Clients are typically successful in many areas, but are struggling to meet their goals or find fulfillment in a particular area.

Do you work with children, couples or families?

I do not work with children, couples or families. And I would be more than happy to work with you to find someone who will be a good fit for you. If you are working with a couples therapist, I can help you or your partner have a deeper understanding of your attachment needs.

Are you contracted with Public Safety Crisis Solutions?

Yes. Before scheduling your first appointment, please contact Public Safety Crisis Solutions/ PSCS Wellness Center for authorization at 602-466-9456.

Do you provide telehealth appointments?

Yes. I have found telehealth appointments to be profoundly successful for clients in the state of Arizona.

Scope of Practice

Certain conditions and diagnosis are not within the scope of these therapists’ practice: (e.g., crisis management, severe mental illness). Given the nature and scope of their practice, Brilliant Sky Counseling reserves the right not to treat persons with certain diagnoses or treatment histories, such as those listed below. We will, however, assist you by referring to professionals that can better serve your treatment needs.

Failure to disclose these aforementioned circumstances and diagnoses, diagnosis during treatment of any of the aforementioned, and/or failure to comply with treatment, may warrant termination of services. Loraine Kern, LPC will consult and determine, based on a thorough assessment of the client’s treatment needs, whether it is in the client’s best interest to receive a referral to a higher level of care and/or more highly specialized treatment.
